Update on the Visa, Paris Video + Gay Rights Roundup

As promised from the long title...

Update on the Visa

It has officially been sent to NY to be processed. Yes we officially applied last week, but you also have to get biometrics done (finger prints and photos) and then send that with the application printed off and all the evidence. So Whitney travelled two hours to Charleston yesterday for a 10 minute appointment (for the third time!) but of course is worth it. It means that it is now on it's way to NY with 'PRIORITY' marked on it. Not because we're Wegan ;) but because we paid $300 for it to be processed quicker. We will of course keep you updated and predict we'll know the result by the end of next week!

Paris Video- Valentines Day!

I finally edited our videos from our Paris trip in February when we went for Valentines day <3 Also stumbled across a French song from 1986 about two femmes in love. How perfect?!

Gay Rights Roundup

Well it's not really a 'round up' as such, however if you live in the UK you'll know that there are BIG talks about gay marriage at the moment. The Church of England have submitted their response to the consultation. They believe it will undermine their position and ultimately threat it may impact on them conducting marriages at all. Oh get a grip and get with the times.

Gay marriage will "alter the intrinsic nature of marriage as the union of a man and a woman, as enshrined in human institutions throughout history".

They say that marriage "an underlying biological complementarity which, for many, includes the possibility of procreation". I'm sorry- are you going to go find all those married that a) haven't had children b) don't plan on having children & c) those who physically cannot have children and rid them of being married?! Because that's right, people can get divorced AND get re-married in the Church of England (since 2002).

You can't pick and choose how you modernise your beliefs. You either stay in the dark ages completely or you move forward or you fail to exist.

On the same day that this came out, Stonewall launched their report which found 70% of Britains agree with gay marriage, as well as three in five who are religious in favour of gay marriage. So there we go. Case closed.

Now we got to start planning this Wegging* now don't we?!

*wedding. Duh.
