Wegan's Winter Round Up 2014!

Well this year has certainly been crazy busy, and this winter has been no exception! With not much time for us to blog, here's quick round up.

Thanksgiving Celebrations

At the end of November we hosted our second Thanksgiving at Wegan Manor with Megan's family, which was a great success. We made more dishes this year, including our own orange cranberry sauce, and many of you wanted recipes. We will try post them at some point, we've just sadly run out of time! We still can't get our pumpkin pie to taste that great, but Lauren is always on hand with the best Key Lime Pie.

Catch up on our first Thanksgiving we hosted in 2013:

Compare how we did on our second Thanksgiving in 2014:

Christmas Festivities!

Christmas is approaching but for the first time ever we will be celebrating it in America instead of the UK with Megan's family! We decorated Wegan Manor earlier this month and Kisses got super excited when she saw the tree and lights come out.

We had a lovely festive day out in London to do a bit of Christmas shopping. I surprised Whitney with a little trip to the skating rink at Somerset House. It's hosted by Fortnum and Mason and as soon as I saw it featured on The Londoner, I knew we'd have to go. It was a great festive atmosphere and whilst we did not go skating ourselves, Whitney loved that I took her there. Next I took her for a surprise dinner at The Savoy Hotel.

We're flying out America tomorrow, on 23rd December, and we're looking forward to spending it with Whitney's family in the South! As we're not going to be spending it with Megan's family, we had a little gathering last night on Sunday which was lovely.

It's going to be strange for all of us to not be together but with marriage there's compromise, and it's about time that I spent it with the wife's family, and get to see how the Americans do it!

New Beginnings:

We're struggling more and more to get videos up weekly and blog posts up as often as we'd like with our work schedules increasing. It's paid off however as I recently received a promotion at work to HR Advisor and Whitney very recently received a new job offer as Account Manager! Whitney is super excited to start her role in the new year and I'm so proud of her! I'm slightly sad that it's end of an era as we knew it as our routine of traveling to work and back home together is over. I'll have to get used to sitting in silence and asking myself what to do for dinner that night!

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Keep an eye on our youtube as we'll try get a Winter Vlog up for Wegan Wednesday! Follow our Twitter account to see what we get up to in the South- @whatwegandid,

Wegan & Kiki Archer Lesbian GIVEAWAY!!

Yes, we have a giveaway!! Alas it is not giving away an actual lesbian... but close enough! We've partnered up with the fabulous lesbian author Kiki Archer to give away not one but five of her books!! The whole Kiki Archer collection, AND they will all be signed! What a great gift coming up to Christmas time, whether you keep it for yourself to read in front of a cosy fire or you want to give it to 5 of your friends.. the choice is yours!

To give you a bit more of an insight if you haven't come across Kiki Archer's book, here's the blurb for 'But She Is My Student'- which Kiki is turning into a film (& you may spot Wegan in it!!)
Miss Katherine Spicer started her first day at Coldfield Comprehensive, confident, enthusiastic and very well qualified; that was until she met the eyes of the student sat hidden in the corner of her classroom. Kat’s final weekend of freedom was about to turn her life upside down and threaten everything she had been working for; how was she to know those mesmerising green eyes would reappear here?
“A cross between Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller and Sugar Rush by Julie Burchill.”

“The novel deals with the many issues of sexuality in a gripping, yet funny manner, pulling the reader back into a world of teenage nostalgia and school day memories.”

“But She Is My Student will make you laugh out loud and have you crying out for the fairytale ending.”

“A really fantastic lesbian novel that also appeals to the avid chick lit reader.”

Not only will you receive these books, but we're throwing in some Wegan wristbands too!! WOO!! So you can just walk around with the book in one hand and the wristbands on the other - who needs gaydar!
