What Megan & Whitney Did Next: November - December
Before this year rounds up (where has the year gone?!) we thought we'd treat you to one last blog update about what we we've been up to in our lives since we departed in the beginning of November.
What Megan Did Next:
Well the snow has decided to descend upon the UK like never before. I have truly never witnessed so much snow in my life! I used to always dream of having a White Christmas when I was younger and never got it.. so I guess this is the years accumulation!
Besides the joys of working (sigh) I have managed to have a few exciting weekends.
Firstly, my boss treated our team to lunch at the Ritz in London which was an amazing experience and I had never been there before. It is truly stunning & exquisite inside, and the Christmas decorations just made it even that more special.
We also say the play Onassis that evening and had a bit of a shop the next day. My sister & I popped round to our cousins celebrate her recent engagement to her lovely boyfriend (SO HAPPY!!!)
It was my sisters 22nd birthday (I'm 23) on 10th December, so I went home for the weekend for a little celebration with family & friends.
There have of course been a couple of Christmas doo's from work! We all did a very good job of refraining from drinking too much alcohol!
Lastly, just this weekend I attended a truly winter wonderland wedding of Emma & Luke. Like Wegan, Emma & Luke have been doing long distance and Luke is in fact an American (Southern too!) So it brings us much joy to see them work out and commit to spending their lives together <3 style="text-align: center;">
It was a truly wonderful day, and the heavy snow fall just added to it! We did however get stuck 3 times in the car on the way to the reception- pictre 3 girls in dresses & boots trying to push a car- hilarious!! Some men came to our rescue ;)
I can't believe Christmas is a mere few days away. I am working right up until Christmas Eve, but we close at 1pm. I just hope that the snow doesn't prevent me leaving Wales to get home to London!!
Just can't wait to be home with the family all nice & cosy.. & happy! & knowing Whit will be shortly in my arms <3
So with that...
What Whitney Did Next:
It’s Whitney here, reporting live from South Carolina! Man, time suuuure is flying by. I cannot believe how fast time has gone by since we last updated you guys- Thanskgiving has come and gone, finals have been taken and it is ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!! Where oh where has this year gone? However, I am VERY excited to be off to the UK to spend New Years with my baby!!!! 6 DAYS!
With that being said, let me now tell you a bit more about my Thanksgiving, my horrid finals and where I presently am- home <3
Thanksgiving 2011-
Soon after my Megan left me I had a pre Thanksgiving celebration hosted by one of my best friends in Hawaii. She wanted to do it early as it was the only time we could all be together due to plans conflicting on actual Thanksgiving. As I said, it was hosted at my friends house, but was co-hosted by one of my other besties who is the MOST DOMESTICATED person I’ve ever met. Move over Martha Stewart! So, you could only imagine how amazing our turkey dinner was and how cute and festive all the décor was creatively laid out. It was just what I needed as I was feeling rather sad about my baby being back to her UK life.
On the actual day of Thanksgiving I was lucky enough to attend my cousins Thanksgiving celebration with her house mates. It was so nice to be able to share it with at least one family member as my family were all in KY/TN/SC. We had lots of yummy food and I hate so much I felt I was about to pop…true thanksgiving style!
Finals-
Ooooh the dreaded time finally came for me to have to take my finals…and pass them! I was challenged with two very difficult courses, the first being a research methods class, where I had to do my senior thesis proposal and a bunch of other course work. The second one was Astrononmy, which was the hardest class I have ever taken! Sooooooooooooo hard!!! I studied for hours and hours and hours, so lets keep your fingers crossed for me that I at least passed…kk?! I will know my results on December 22.
Home Times-
I was so eager to come home that I left Hawaii the day of my last final! Wahoo! My home has always been Kentucky, but my mother has recently relocated to South Carolina for a job promotion. So this is another place I can now call home. It feels like home too! I love being back on the mainland, being in the cold, busting out the winter attire and just being able to snuggle up and sip hot apple cider and coffee is SO NICE! My mom and I are really close so it is great to be able to spend some time with her. On the 23rd my mom and I are off to Kentucky to spend xmas eve and xmas day with my aunt and all of my cousins. Going to be a big family Christmas affair and I’m so excited! Also, my best friend Sarah is going to be spending Christmas with us and we are picking her up in Tennessee en route to KY! And also get to see my other bestie, Seth. I have known these two for my entire life and cannot wait to see them. So I have Christmas, family, friends, and seeing my girl so soon….life is good right now!
