Firstly sorry that these weekly posts are starting to not become well, so weekly. Originally we were hoping to get the posts up at the beginning of each week but we think it will just be posted within the week now. We really admire people who can balance blogging, life & work!
For those of you out there who love Moby, he got a new toy this week and he super loves it. He's just too adorable!
As you know it was our anniversary last week so we went to Blue Water Grill, our favourite restaurant that we try to go to on our anniversaries.
We love to sit outside by the water with fairy lights and torch's adding to the atmosphere. Whitney got her favourite lava flow and Megan had a champagne cocktail. We always order the same yummy meal: Whitney has macadamia nut covered shrimp with sweet chilli aioli with okinawan sweet potatoe mash and Megan gets grilled vegetables with garlic mash. We also super love the desert which is banana lumpia- bananas fried and coated in cinnamon. YUM. (Damn I want it now).
We felt the need for some retail therapy (though really can't afford to, isn't it always the way) so went to the biggest outside mall- Ala Moana.
We only allowed ourselves to shop at Forever 21 (though we did a bit of damage) and I also bought myself a Nicki Minaj t-shirt because Megan LOVES her. We had a yummy lunch at Ruby Tuesday (both had veggie burgers) and we also enjoyed one of the best cocktails we've ever had. We had a shock later that evening when I couldn't find my video camera, but luckily it turned out I had left it at Ruby Tuesdays. Phew!
We met up for a drink at Kona Brewing Company with our lovely friend we made through Starbucks.
We also met up for drinks with our good friend Lizzle (& her German friend) at Mai Tai's (a Hawaiian bar we somehow had yet to visit).
In preparation of getting engaged we've been trying to find the perfect engagement rings. We've decided we'd love to have them from Hawaii. Originally we were going to have the same engagement ring but as you can see from the pictures, Whitney prefers BLING whereas Megan prefers the more subtle look. We'll of course get the same wedding bands. If you're an engaged/ married lesbian couple, did you both get engagement rings, did they match etc? It's a hard thing to figure out what to do.
It was a gorgeous hot day last Friday so we spent the afternoon at Sandy's beach. We love to watch the surfers! As hot as it makes girls look, we're still reluctant to do it ourselves. (Megan struggles to get her face wet!!)
We thought it was about time we treated ourselves to pancakes again, as well as an omlette- how freaky is this leopard looking potato?!!
The cutest old couple were sat next to us, they were just adorable.
We started applying for Whitney's visa to the UK which is rather exciting but also scary if we get denied as it costs $1200!
Whitney's housemate made us a delicious meal on Saturday night and then we spent the eve watching 'Never Let Me Go' in our matching PJs.
On a side note, we're absolutely obsessed with Dexter (anyone else?!) and have just finished season 5. we're devastated! We can't cope waiting until September for the new series.
A new Hawaiian cafe has opened in the neighbourhood so we of course had to try it out and were pleased with what we found!
On Sunday we spontaneously decided to have a date night and went out to an Italian restaurant Assagios, it was delicious!!
(It's becoming quite apparent Megan's obsessed with taking pictures of food)
Well that's this weeks edition of What Wegan Did Next, What Wegan Wore coming up next.
