On 5th October 2018, we celebrated 10 years since becoming officially girlfriend and girlfriend! For our 10 year anniversary, we wanted a quick getaway that wasn't far to travel to but fulfilled our love for sun, palm trees and relaxation. We found just that, thanks to Jet2 and Seaside Palm Beach!
HOW TO GET THERE
How best to reach this glorious island? We got our flights to Gran Canaria with Jet2. In order to directly reach Gran Canaria, Jet2 flights are from London Stanstead. It only takes 4 hours before you're welcomed by the sun and palm trees! Perfect if you're looking for that short getaway anytime of the year, as it is sunny all year round (hottest between June - October) and hardly any rain. Hooray! Jet2 is a budget airline so don't expect any TV's or fancy pillows. Bring a book or something to watch on your iPad and maybe a neck pillow. For such great affordable (cheap) flights to a great destination you can't complain!
THE HOTEL
A short 30 minute ride from Las Palamos and we arrived at our wonderful luxury hotel for a couple of nights, Seaside Palm Beach. When we arrived, we felt like we had immediately transported back in time, but in the absolute best of ways, with it's unique retro charm. With three pools on site and a spa, as well as great food, it's the perfect destination for a relaxing break (and girl, did we need it!) Plus it is near the sand dunes if you want to get out and explore a bit.
It's clear to see why Seaside Palm Beach is part of the prestigious worldwide Design Hotels™ organisation. (Only 200 hotels in around 40 countries in all parts of the world are Design Hotel members, each featuring outstanding design and pioneering architecture.)
You can certainly see why it's called Palm Beach, and for a couple of gals who love palm trees, we were in heaven!
The bedrooms at Seaside Palm Beach come in four different vibrant colours, each celebrating the colours of the Canary Islands.
We loved our retro colourful bedroom design (we had the coral and blue design) and we were greeted by this lovely surprise of swan towels, beautiful rose petals and champagne and fruit to kick off our romantic getaway.
We also enjoyed an amazing massage at their lovely spa. It was just what we needed and we felt fantastic!
There are so many great food and drink options (we pretty much tried it all ha). The food buffet for breakfast and dinner will definitely have something on offer to satisfy everything. Oh and the dessert table... wow!
You also can't leave without having a sangria, or two!
All in all, it was the perfect backdrop for our anniversary!
We had a wonderful time at Seaside Palm Beach and cannot wait to visit again!
